Encouraging Notes to Yourself

I started using my mini Happy Planner again at the beginning of June. I bought the Happy Planner Girl Super Mom mini which has what is called the dashboard layout. This layout has a page on the left that is all functional type planning sections such as: errands, to buy, calls to make, and bills to pay. The right side of the page has a weekly meal planner and the 7 days of the week. I knew from very early on I wouldn’t use the errands or calls to make section very often, or at all. I usually cover it with a few stickers and make it more of a decoration space. The month of June I decided to use a box of some sort, or leave some room and write a very small encouraging note to myself each week. The notes are usually a few words and represent what I needed for the week. Below are all of my June notes with a few words as to why I think it is important to encourage yourself.

This week especially, I have needed to remind myself that I am worthy. Telling yourself you are good enough and worthy enough is a huge feat in itself. This isn’t something I would ever whisper to myself or even believe. So I knew I needed to add it to my planner this week so every time I opened it I would have that small reminder to myself. Adding a positive note to each week this month has been so helpful to remind myself of something new each week.

This month, looking back at my completed week, I’ve noticed how valuable these notes have been to getting through my week. For example, The week where it says “you are strong” my husband and I took two foster kids in on a Monday. I was working at six in the morning, and lets just say the sweet girl was terrified the first night and woke every thirty minutes screaming! I needed the reminder that I was strong that week, and that although I was tired, and I mean extremely tired, it was all for a purpose, and it was for a short time.

It was really important for me to encourage myself because I’m doing the best I can in the moment. I need to show myself that I am proud of myself even when I fail. It’s so easy to find fault in what you do every day, but instead we need to encourage ourselves for the small feats we have! It’s so important to be proud of ourselves and to show ourselves that we can do it! I know that might sound cheesy, but the more you see your positive efforts each day, the more you’re going to be proud of yourself and want to keep trying.

Writing an encouraging note to yourself is such an important thing to get in the habit of doing. Sometimes, you need to be your biggest cheerleader, and that’s totally fine! If no one else is cheering you on, DO IT YOURSELF! You are worth it! You are good enough! You can handle whatever is thrown your way! Find a spot in your planner to write yourself an encouraging note this week, and make it a habit!

What kind of encouraging note will you write yourself today?

I’m really glad I started this habit in June, and I’m excited to see where it takes me in the rest of 2019. When are you going to start encouraging yourself?
